Some will remember Phillips from his time as vocalist of the Connecticut ska band Johnny Too Bad and the Strikeouts. For 15 years he also hosted a weekly show on WRTC FM Hartford.

Sunday January 11th we will present the first session of GOLD NOTE: JAZZ AT BERLINETTA, a new series of live classic jazz curated by Brian Anderson. Twice a month expect great performances inspired by the halcyon decades of small-combo jazz, with special thematic emphasis on specific genres and styles.
For this first edition, the focus will be on soul-jazz. The group will perform from 3pm til 6pm. We will have tons of great vintage jazz vinyl for sale as well. No cover, come on down, have a beer, have a great time. See you Sunday January 11th in downtown Bridgeport.

Orb Mellon is the blues moniker of Mike Malone, founder and guitarist of the seminal 1990s indie rock band and Sony/Epic recording artists Dirt Merchants.
Orb Mellon mines the raw energy of 20th Century American roots music, particularly whiskey fueled house party delta blues. Influenced by the likes of Bukka White, Junior Kimbrough, and John Fahey, Orb Mellon performs pure, sonically aggressive, and ever transforming original folk blues. He has performed extensively around the eastern United States and Canada sharing the stage with such diverse acts as David Johansen (NY Dolls), Daddy Long Legs, Charlie Parr, R.L.Boyce and Brownbird Rudy Relic. In 2018, Orb Mellon was a feature performer at the Montreal International Jazz Festival.
